Ryou is a first-year high schooler who spends his days aimlessly. One day, he catches sight of a beautiful girl on the train to school, and although his heart had taken a liking to her, his mind and body were unable to make a move. However, when his buddy Hatakeyama invites him to join in on the local Tanabata star festival, he meets a mysterious girl named Tokiko and feels his life begin to change... all the while being unaware that this encounter would ultimately lead to his death in two years. The hopes and pains of adolescence intersect at the Star Festival in this rather unusual tale of boy meets girl!
